Need New Key Board

Postby JoKeR on Mon Jul 19, 2010 16:34

Hey Im looking to buy a new Key board because I've been using the same rubbish key board for about 2 years now and im getting annoyed with it. Dose any one know any good Key Board's that they would recomend me getting thats not too much money. But if it is good and will last me a long time I would'nt mind spending too much as long as i dont have to buy another one any time soon.

I'd never get a keyboard that makes social judgements about you tbh

I haven't tried the Reclusa so can't comment. My suggestions:

Logitech G15 - not the cheapest, grantest but it's damn good imo, I know a lot of people use this, myself included. (Can pick it up for about £50-60 if you shop around enough)

Logitech G11 - Cheaper but still pretty good.

I've tried quite a few "gaming keyboards" and they are all pretty good to be honest, only one I don't like is the Razer Tarantula. What ever you get, make sure you can hold down at least 4 simultaneous keys on it, and don't even consider wireless

I'm on my 3rd Zboard now. Highly recommend them.

I used to use a ZBoard (still got one somewhere) but I was never much of a fan personally. I never got used to the different keysets (since I use a custom keyboard map anyway) and it just doesn't feel very good quality really, always felt a bit flimsy + plasticy.

If you prefer a "gaming shape" keyboard with the different sized keys e.t.c, have you considered this:

Timberwolf gaming keyboard - pretty cheap these days (About £30 I think).

My keyboard:

Logitech Y-BH52 Corded

As long as your keyboard isn't terrible, I don't think it would make that much of a difference. I wouldn't pay too much for a keyboard tbh.

Saitek Eclipse II (haven't tried the III) is a great keyboard, cause not only does it have lights but you can change the colour and it even has a dimmer dial!!!! :O

Seriously though they are good and, compared to the logitech G series, relatively inexpensive. Great for LANs too as the backlight also illuminates the keys so you can see what you're typing when the lights go out. Been to many iseries and the saiteks are by far and away the most popular/used keyboard. You should be able to pick one up for less than £30 tbh.

Or you could wait for the Saitek V5 which looks like a beast tbh. Out mid august and around £35.
